Bhavya joined the group in September 2025. Her MSc project focuses on metabolic engineering of lignin biosynthesis in Arabidopsis.

Rhys joined the group in September 2026. His MSc project aims to produce a chromosome-resolved genome assembly of eastern leatherwood (Dirca palustris), a woody shrub with unusual lignin phenotypes.

Lauren joined the group for her 2026-2027 Honours Project. She is researching the mechanisms of lignin deposition in seed pods and the effects of lignification on pod shattering (dehiscence).

Justyn joined the group for his 2026-2027 Honours Project. He is investigating phenolic metabolites in one of our favourite local plant species, eastern leatherwood (Dirca palustris).

Rosita joined the group for her 2026-2027 Honours Project. She is studying fast-growing Brassica as a model for genetic studies in plants.

Faye joined the group in October 2026 as part of the Undergraduate Science Research Opportunity programme to work on recombinant protein expression and characterisation.
