We are actively recruiting new trainees! Please get in touch if you are interested in joining our group to explore the biology and biotechnology of lignin and plant cell walls.
Every year, we welcome 2 – 3 undergraduate students into our group to complete their Honours research projects. Students are expected to be exceptionally organised and highly driven. Prior coursework related to plants and molecular biology are strongly encouraged. Applicants should submit their CV, uOttawa transcript, and a brief statement of interest, typically around January. See below for our current projects.
Prospective graduate student trainees should have completed undergraduate studies in plant biology, biology, biotechnology, biochemistry, or a related discipline. Prior research experience is considered an asset. Trainees are expected to be highly organised, goal oriented, independently motivated. Applications are welcome at any time, keeping in mind the programme requirements and deadlines. Trainees are encouraged to apply for the Canada Graduate Research Scholarship, the Ontario Graduate Scholarship, and other applicable competitive scholarships. Applicants should submit their CV, undergraduate transcript, and a brief statement of interest. See below for our current MSc / PhD projects.
Prospective post-doctoral trainees should have completed graduate studies in plant biology, biology, biotechnology, biochemistry, or a related discipline. Prior research experience is required. We do not currently have funding to support post-doctoral trainees without external funding. However, we are always keen to hear from highly motivated individuals and support them in applying for fellowships. Some postdoctoral fellowships worth considering are: the NSERC Postdoctoral Fellowship, the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellowships, and the Human Frontiers in Science Fellowship.
